Toronto - December 8, 2017: For the 12th year in a row, the Law Society has been named as one of Greater Toronto's 2018 Top Employers.
Held by Mediacorp Canada Inc., the competition recognizes leading employers in the City of Toronto and the regional municipalities of York, Halton, Peel and Durham. Employers are compared to others within the same fields and regions to determine which offer the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.
“It is wonderful to receive this prestigious honour for 12 consecutive years,” says Law Society Acting Chief Executive Officer Diana Miles. “Being recognized as an inclusive and professional place to work is reflective of our best practices, as well as our ongoing work to be a role model for the communities we serve. I commend all of our employees for helping the organization to achieve this distinction once again.”
The Law Society was chosen as one of the GTA's Top 2018 Employers, mainly for the following reasons:
- investing in long-term career development, with tuition subsidies for courses, subsidies for professional accreditation and a number of in-house and online training options;
- supporting the physical and mental well-being of employees, offering onsite instructor-led classes such as yoga, Pilates and meditation, as well as massage therapy sessions throughout the year; and
- providing maternity and parental leave top-up payments to employees who are new or adoptive parents - and offering a number of flexible working arrangements to help them ease into their new role as parents.
