Biographical Sketch
David Stirling, architect, was born at Galashiels, Scotland on December 6th, 1822. He immigrated to St John's, Newfoundland, in 1847. He later established architectural practices in Charlottetown and Halifax. In 1872, Stirling was appointed Dominion architect for federal works in Nova Scotia, and in 1880 was made an associate architect of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. Stirling died in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, on April 13th, 1887.
Scope and Content
Fonds consists of a copy of a notebook maintained by architect David Stirling. The notebook contains sketches, plans, and financial documentation, for various projects Stirling worked on, including Osgoode Hall.
No restrictions on access.
