Biographical Sketch
Henry "Harry" Stuart Hayes, son of Henry W. Hayes, was born on 21 Feb. 1890 in Northumberland County, Ontario. He was a 1914 University of Toronto graduate and a Osgoode Hall Law School student when he enlisted in 1915. A sergeant in the 7th Brigade of the Canadian Field Artillery and recipient of a Military Medal, Hayes died on 2 Nov. 1916 during the Battle of the Somme in France.
 
Scope and Content
Collection consists of digital copies of letters, a telegram and a photograph pertaining to the First World War military service and death of Henry Stuart Hayes, an Osgoode Hall Law School student.
