The Annual Report Filing has been updated for 2021

January 04, 2022

As you begin your 2021 Annual Report Filing, you may notice that it looks a little different from previous years. That’s because the 2021 Annual Report Filing has been updated for a more efficient process.

Here are a few highlights of the 2021 Annual Report Filing.

Reduced questions

The 2021 Annual Report Filing features fewer questions for all licensees. The new format also ensures you only answer questions relevant to your own professional activities. For example, non-practising lawyers and paralegals who did not provide legal services in 2021 will bypass non-relevant questions of the Annual Report Filing.

Auto-filled content

The 2021 Annual Report Filing leverages auto-fill technology for questions that are often similar year-after-year and questions that may take more time to answer. Some questions will appear already pre-populated with the previous year’s information. For other questions, you will be able to select whether you would like the report to automatically fill information from your previous year’s Annual Report Filing or whether you would like to enter information manually. When using the auto-fill feature, it’s important to know that that any data manually entered in the question field will be overwritten if you use the “click to auto-fill” feature for that same question.

Questions that require calculations, like areas of law/legal services for example, have both an auto-fill option and an automatic tally of percentages to help ensure accuracy.
