CPD Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Requirement

Educating for change is one of five strategies the Law Society is putting into action to break down barriers faced by racialized lawyers and paralegals.

CPD Requirement now includes three EDI Hours to be completed by the end of 2020

Licensees subject to the CPD Requirement must complete three Professionalism Hours of accredited programming focused on equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI Hours), by the end of 2020.  Licensees will be required to complete one EDI Hour per year of accredited programming thereafter.  EDI Hours count towards the licensee’s Professionalism Hours for the year in which they are completed. See FAQs for more information.

Meeting the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Professionalism Hours requirement

The Law Society has developed accreditation criteria for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Professionalism Hours (EDI Hours). Accredited programs can be identified by the EDI accredited logo.
