The investigation into the Law Society’s licensing examinations is complex and evolving quickly.
Today, the Law Society of Ontario is announcing an update to the timeline and plans for licensing examinations for lawyers and paralegals for the 2022 – 2023 licensing cycle.
Members of Ontario's legal professions will be recognized for their outstanding career achievements and contributions to their communities at the annual Law Society Awards ceremony, which will be held on May 25, 2022.
Registered candidates will now be able to proceed with writing the barrister examination from April 5 to 8 and the solicitor examination from April 26 to 29.
To protect the public and the integrity of its licensing process, the Law Society has undertaken the decision to cancel the upcoming barrister and solicitor examinations, scheduled to be written from March 8 to 11, and March 22 to 25, respectively.
