Homewood Health cyber security incident affecting the Member Assistance Program

The Law Society is sharing important information from Homewood Health regarding a cyber security incident impacting Homewood Health systems, which delivers health and wellness services across Canada.

Homewood Health is contracted as an independent third-party provider to deliver the Member Assistance Program (MAP) which is accessible to licensees, licensing candidates, law and paralegal students, members of the judiciary, and their families.

Funded by the Law Society in partnership with LAWPRO, MAP is a fully independent confidential service. Neither the Law Society nor LAWPRO has information about any individuals or their family members who contact Homewood Health, access MAP services, or any information about the nature of services that may have been received through the program.

The Law Society has been advised about the cyber security incident and that MAP has been affected, however, the Law Society has no knowledge about specific individuals affected or how they were affected by the incident.

The Law Society has been advised that Homewood Health has notified the proper authorities and with the support of external cyber security and privacy experts took immediate steps to contain the incident.

Individuals who have accessed MAP services may contact Homewood Health’s incident inquiry line at 1-833-787-2862 or submit an online inquiry form to determine if they have been affected.
